Aruzi is a rare coffee selection originating from Inzá, Cauca, Colombia, first identified as a natural mutation among local coffee trees and later propagated for its strong yield potential, resilience, and exceptional cup quality. Genetic analysis suggests a connection to Ethiopian Bourbon type heirloom genetics, which contributes to its naturally expressive profile and fruity, floral character. In Colombia, it has been developed through small experimental lots by producers such as Victor Alfonso Bonilla and Javier Quintero, focusing on quality driven selection and controlled cultivation.
