This is our first time sourcing the Catuai varietal from Hacienda La Esmeralda, one of Panama’s most iconic coffee estates. Grown on the Jaramillo Farm, surrounded by the estate’s renowned Geisha lots, Diamond Mountain offers a distinctly different expression, with orange brightness, nougat sweetness, and soft biscuit notes.
Catuai, a hybrid of Mundo Novo and Caturra, was first introduced in 1979 in Honduras and later commercialized in 1983. The estate’s careful cultivation and selective harvesting ensure a clean, balanced cup with clarity and approachable sweetness. This lot is versatile and expressive, offering a Panamanian coffee experience that stands apart from the surrounding Geisha lots.
